Anne is the Chairman and a Founder of Signature. In addition to leading the firm and working with clients on a daily basis, Anne is recognized as a leader in the Hampton Roads business community. She has been honored, nationally and across Virginia, as an outstanding legal professional and as an accomplished advisor to families of wealth.

Anne is active in the business community in Hampton Roads and serves on the board of numerous non-profit institutions. She is a former Rector of the Board of Visitors of Eastern Virginia Medical School and former Rector of the Board of Visitors of Old Dominion University.  Currently, she is a Trustee and Chair of the Investment Committee at Virginia Wesleyan College, a Trustee of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, a Trustee of ACCESS College Foundation, a Trustee of the ODU Educational Foundation and a member of the Wellesley College Business Leadership Council.   In 2011 Anne received the Citizen Lawyer award from the William & Mary School of Law and the Barron F. Black Community Builder Award from the Hampton Roads Community Foundation.  Anne also was recognized in 2011 by LEAD Hampton Roads with its Visionary Award for business leaders.

Anne is a graduate of Wellesley College and the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary.

In her spare time Anne enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband and family, which includes three grandchildren. Anne is fond of travel and cites a 2010 trip to China as her favorite, creating a book afterward to summarize the experience.

Susan R. Colpitts is a Founder of Signature Family Wealth Advisors and is Chief of Client Experience. She has deep experience working with wealthy families, helping them navigate the complexity that comes with financial success, specifically working in the technical areas of financial, philanthropic, tax, trust, and estate planning.

Prior to founding Signature in 1994 with Anne Shumadine, Susan was a tax consultant with the law firms Shumadine and Rose, P.C. and McCandlish Holton, P.C., and the accounting firm Price Waterhouse. She has received various national recognitions for her professional accomplishments.

Susan’s volunteer activities include being a current Trustee of the Eastern Virginia Medical School Foundation; Director of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation; Director of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities; Director of Building Goodness Foundation; member of the Planned Giving Advisory Board at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce; past Chair of the United Way of South Hampton Roads; past Chair of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and past President of the Virginia Symphony Foundation.

Susan is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she received a bachelor’s degree with distinction in English, and a master’s degree in Accounting with a concentration in Taxation.

Married with three daughters, Susan enjoys reading, yoga, cooking, walking the family dogs, and quiet weekends on the Eastern Shore.

Randy is President and CEO of Signature, responsible for the firm’s strategy and business development. Prior to joining Signature, Randy was with Bank of America for 18 years. His tenure at Bank of America culminated in the position of Managing Director of the bank’s mid-cap investment banking group, with responsibility for building and co-managing the East coast team. Randy was based in New York City and was focused on the firm’s capital raising and mergers and acquisitions effort within the mid-cap segment. He previously worked as Sr. Vice President in the corporate finance group of Bank of America’s predecessor institution, NationsBank.

Randy serves on the boards of WHRO Public Radio, as the Board Chairman, the  Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation, on the Investment Committee, and the Norfolk Forum. He also serves as the Chair of Strategic Planning for the Board of Directors of ForKids and is a member of the Board of the Rutter Family Art Foundation. Randy is on the speaker committee for TedXRVA and on the board of the 757 Angels. He is also a graduate of the CIVIC program in Hampton Roads.

Randy is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and received an MBA degree from the College of William & Mary.

Randy enjoys spending free time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys running and sailing and has traveled throughout the world. His favorite destination with the family is an annual trip to Martha’s Vineyard.

Xandra is the Chief Operating Officer at Signature. As a member of the Executive Committee she develops and measures firm strategy, policies, and procedures. She provides oversight and guidance to many departments to ensure the client experience is enhanced while finding efficiencies. Xandra also collaborates with the Director of Compliance to ensure the firm is in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Prior to joining Signature, Xandra was the Operations Manager of the Virginia Beach office of UBS Financial Services. Her industry experience, which spans many different roles, began in 1991.

Xandra graduated from Averett University with a bachelor’s of business administration degree, and has a Graduate Certificate from University of Virginia in Organizational Leadership. She is a 2010 graduate of the LEAD Hampton Roads program, and serves on executive committee for the Board of the Virginia Beach Forum. Xandra also serves on the board of Norfolk CASA and the Virginia Stage Company.

Bill Achenbach is a Client Strategist at Signature, having merged his independent practice into Signature in 2007. He practiced in Charlottesville with his own firm, W.L. Achenbach & Associates, as an independent fee-based financial advisor from 1991 to 2007. Prior to that he was a founding partner of the Chicago office of the financial counseling firm Brownson, Rehmus & Foxworth, Inc.; a partner in the investment management firm Stein, Roe and Farnham; and an associate in the law firm Kirkland & Ellis.

Bill is a former Trustee of Northwestern University and president of its Alumni Association and a former Trustee and Audit Chair of a national mutual fund complex. He is a former Chair of both the Hospital Board and the Health Services (parent) Board of the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, and currently serves as a Board member of Sentara Health System in Norfolk, after its merger with Martha Jefferson. Other community activities have included past service as a Board member and Treasurer of the Farmington Country Club and vestry member of St. Paul’s Ivy Episcopal Church.

Bill holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and graduate degrees from the University of Chicago Law School (JD) and Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management (MBA).

Bill and his wife Carolyn live in Albemarle County. He enjoys travel and photography, and has a passion for piloting his Harley Davidson Road King Classic around the countryside whenever possible.

Teague entered the financial services industry in 2005.  His previous experience includes serving ultra-high-net-worth, multigenerational families at The Northern Trust Company in Chicago, Illinois for ten years, and most recently serving as a Relationship Manager with Heritage Wealth Advisors in Richmond, Virginia.

Teague earned his bachelor’s degree in management from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.  He is a Certified Financial Planner™ and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Richmond, Virginia.

Teague enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two young children being active, exploring new cities, and numerous outdoor activities including hiking, golf, and running.

Amanda is a Client Strategist at Signature.  Amanda advises clients and provides comprehensive, customized solutions for estate planning, philanthropic strategies, asset allocation, and portfolio construction.

Prior to joining Signature, Amanda was a financial advisor with American Express Financial Advisors in Virginia Beach, where she was recognized as one of the firm’s top 100 new advisors.

Amanda was named as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Hampton Roads in 2010. Amanda has previously served as a Board member of the Virginia Stage Company and as Past President of the Financial Planning Association Hampton Roads.  She is currently Chair of the Board of Directors for The UP Center, the largest and oldest human services agency in Hampton Roads.

Amanda received a bachelor ‘s degree in Finance from James Madison University and is a graduate of the LEAD Hampton Roads program.

Amanda’s hobbies include scuba diving, swimming, reading, and cooking, as well as spending time with her husband and four young children. She enjoys traveling, especially to destinations around the world that are ideal for scuba diving.

Sarah is a Client Strategist at Signature.  She focuses on advising and managing client relationships and delivering customized, comprehensive solutions to help clients realize the potential of their wealth.

Prior to joining Signature, Sarah practiced as a CPA with an emphasis on tax planning and compliance for high net worth families with multifaceted income, gift, and estate tax issues.  Her previous experience includes practicing with both an international firm and a local firm.

Sarah is a graduate of the LEAD Hampton Roads Class of 2015 and serves as a committee chair for the United Way Young Leaders Society.  She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Virginia Society of CPAs, and the Tidewater Chapter of the VSCPA.

Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree from the Mason School of Business at the College of William and Mary.

Sarah enjoys spending her free time with her family and being active in both the community and the outdoors. In particular, she enjoys participating in half marathons as a recreational runner, teaching her dog new tricks, and traveling to new places.

Eric  is a Client Strategist at Signature, focusing on client strategy, investment management, family and estate planning, and philanthropic strategies. Prior to joining Signature, Eric was a Managing Director at U. S. Trust, where he led the Charlottesville wealth management office. Additionally, Eric served as Market President for Bank of America in Charlottesville, where he coordinated the cross-functional efforts of seven lines of business.

Eric’s career in investment and wealth management has spanned more than 33 years. Prior to joining Bank of America, Eric was a Senior Vice President and branch manager for Smith Barney, where he established the Charlottesville and Roanoke, Virginia offices. His duties included the recruiting and retention of financial consultants, P&L responsibilities for two offices, and individual client management. He also held similar positions as a producing branch manager for Wheat First Butcher Singer and Scott & Stringfellow, Inc.

Eric currently serves on the Governing Board of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation and Chair of the Grant Portfolio Committee and the Executive Committee of the United Way – Thomas Jefferson Area.

Eric earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from  Emory & Henry College. He was named to the Emory & Henry College Board of Trustees in 2012 and serves on the Executive Committee.

Married with two children, Eric enjoys numerous outdoor activities, including sailing and travel, as well as civic, community and cultural endeavors.

Chris McLean is a Client Strategist at Signature, focused on working with clients to implement wealth management strategies. Before joining Signature, he served as Market President for Bank of America in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he coordinated the cross-functional efforts of seven lines of business. Additionally, he was Senior Vice President and Private Client Manager at U.S. Trust-Bank of America Private Wealth Management. While at Bank of America, Chris earned a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation, and the Bank’s 2008 Virginia Spirit Award.

During his tenure at Bank of America, Chris served as Senior Trust Officer and Team Lead for the Western Theatre of Virginia, where he managed both business development and a $225 million portfolio of trust and investments.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and graduated from the T.C. Williams School of Law. Afterward, he clerked for The Honorable Myron T. Steele, now retired Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court, and The Honorable Henry du Pont Ridgely, also retired Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court followed by a clerkship with Jere M. H. Willis, Jr., a Virginia Court of Appeals Judge. Chris then practiced law for several years with Tremblay and Smith, PC in Charlottesville.

Chris currently serves as a Board or Committee member for ReadyKids, Field School, St. Anne’s’ Alumni Council, Piedmont Environment Council, Samuel Miller Agricultural Trust, and Building Management Company.

In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time outside with his children and works on his family’s vintage 1914 Rugby Road farmhouse. He loves to travel and has explored most of the US, Europe, and much of the Caribbean.

Wistar is a Client Strategist. Wistar advises wealthy families on asset allocation, portfolio construction, family and business succession, estate planning, and philanthropic strategies. He serves clients across the country, including Virginia, Illinois, South Carolina, California, Wyoming, and New Mexico.

Wistar came to Signature from the Miller Center, a nonpartisan institute at the University of Virginia dedicated to the study of the American presidency. He began his tenure as Executive Director and General Counsel of the Miller Center Foundation and later served as program director of the National Commission on Federal Election Reform, co-chaired by Presidents Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford. Subsequently, he became the Miller Center’s associate director, which included overseeing $45 million of endowment assets.

After graduating from law school, Wistar began his career at the Washington, D.C. office of Fulbright & Jaworski, and left to co-found Vega Group Limited, an international consulting firm that helped companies develop and implement successful export strategies.

Wistar is a community leader and frequently volunteers as an informal advisor to non-profit organizations. He currently serves as Trustee and member of the Investment Committee of North Cross School in Roanoke, Virginia, as a Director of the H. Gordon and Mary Smyth Foundation in Charlottesville, and as a Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia.

Wistar is a graduate, magna cum laude, of Middlebury College and the University of Virginia School of Law.

Wistar and his wife have two children. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, hiking, tennis, and travel with his family.

Chris is a Client Strategist at Signature. He focuses on advising and managing client relationships, and delivering customized, comprehensive wealth management solutions.

Chris entered the financial services industry in 1999. His previous experience includes practicing corporate law in the Virginia Beach office of Williams Mullen, and working in the Equity Capital Markets and Syndicate departments at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.

Active in community organizations, Chris is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville, and is actively involved with the Mariners’ Museum in Newport News, Virginia.  Chris is also serving as Co-Chair of the Center for Non-Profit Excellence Philanthropy Day Lunch.  Chris was named as one of the Top 40 Under 40 in Hampton Roads by Inside Business in 2011.

Chris received his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Politics from Washington and Lee University, and his JD/MBA from the College of William and Mary.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys going to concerts and fly fishing. An avid traveler, Chris summited Mt. Kilimanjaro and has fished throughout the United States, the Bahamas, and Mexico. A few of his favorite destinations are Livingston, Montana, St. Paul De Vence, France and Kinsale, Ireland.

Suzann is a Client Portfolio Strategist in Signature’s Richmond office.  She focuses on advising and managing client relationships and delivering customized, comprehensive solutions to clients. Her extensive tax and trust experience provides a unique combination of strategy and client management skills.

Prior to joining Signature, Suzann served as the Chief Operating Officer of Triad, LC, a single- family office located in Richmond, Virginia. She was a trusted advisor to all family members, in addition to her responsibilities for operations, tax, finance, and administration.  Suzann’s previous experience includes practicing in small local firms, a national firm and in private industry.

Suzann served on the Board of Managers for Value Aligned Fund, LP, a long/short hedge fund located in New Jersey for several years.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of CPAs.

Suzann graduated from Western Connecticut State University’s Ancell School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.  She is married and has 2 sons. Suzann lives in Chesterfield with her husband, her son and his significant girlfriend. Her other son and daughter-in-law live in Illinois and hope to move back to Virginia when they start growing their family.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and taking long walks.

Chris is a Client Portfolio Strategist in Signature’s Richmond office. He focuses on working with clients to create and explain portfolio composition and strategies.  His extensive investment experience provides a unique combination of portfolio expertise and client management skills.

Chris began his financial services career in 1989.  His industry experience includes roles in banking, equity research, asset management, and institutional equity sales at Bank of America, Wheat First Butcher Singer, BB&T Capital Markets, and Davenport & Co.  Most recently, Chris was head of the institutional sales unit of Davenport, where he also served on the Board of Directors and on the firm’s equity research committee.

Chris devotes much of his free time to serving the youth of Richmond via his roles in youth lacrosse programs. He is Program Director of Geronimo Lacrosse and Board Member of US Lacrosse’s Richmond Chapter and is currently the director of a High School select lacrosse program called Amped Lax. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Lacrosse the Nations.  Chris is particularly proud of the partnership between Amped Lax and a national non-profit, Lacrosse the Nations, which provides outreach to underprivileged youth in Central America.

Chris is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Aquarium. He also serves on the Investment Committee of the Collegiate School, the Virginia Commonwealth University Business School Finance Advisory Council and the Endowment Board of St. Paul’s Church.

Chris graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in History in 1988.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.  Chris’ outside interests include lacrosse, surfing, and travel to warm weather climates with his wife and two sons.

Greg is a Client Portfolio Strategist in Signature’s Richmond office.  He focuses on working with clients to create and explain portfolio composition and strategies.  His extensive investment experience provides a unique combination of portfolio expertise and client management skills.

Prior to joining Signature, Greg served as the Chief Investment Officer of Triad, LC, a single-family office located in Richmond, Virginia, where he was responsible for investment management, strategy, planning and oversight across an array of asset classes including private equity and real estate.  Prior to joining Triad, he spent time as a Portfolio Manager at both U.S. Trust and Davenport and Company, serving high net worth clients, and worked in the Real Estate and Specialty Finance Investment Banking Group at BB&T Capital Markets.

Greg currently serves on the St. Andrew’s School Foundation Board, The Old Westham Civic Association Board and is active in Richmond’s start-up and entrepreneurial ecosystem as an investor and mentor.  He is a Board Observer for Wealthforge Holdings and a Managing Member of Hookum, a toy and game development company.

Greg graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with degrees in both Economics and German and received an MBA from the University of Richmond.  He lives in Richmond with his wife and two sons, where, in his spare time, he enjoys running, hunting, and playing golf.

Bailey is a Planning Specialist at Signature. She works with clients to identify their goals and offers customized wealth management solutions to simplify their lives. She ensures that Signature is utilizing the most sophisticated wealth planning resources in order to provide an excellent client experience across the firm. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and completed her Certification Education Program at Boston University.

Previously, Bailey was Director of Marketing at Sandpiper Capital, an investment management firm in Virginia Beach.

A native of Albany, Georgia, Bailey graduated magna cum laude from The University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. During her senior year, she spent time in Vienna, Frankfurt, Bratislava, and Prague to study the financial environments in which multinational corporations operate.

Bailey enjoys playing on several USTA league tennis teams and serves on the marketing committee for United Way Young Philanthropists.

Carter is a Portfolio Manager at Signature, leading  the firm’s hedge fund efforts. Carter is responsible for manager sourcing, due diligence, and capital allocation. Additionally, he advises Signature’s client families, foundations, and institutional investors on asset allocation and portfolio construction.

Prior to joining Signature in 2002, Carter spent seven years with Bank of America as vice president in the Private Bank. He was named one of Norfolk’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2002 by Inside Business. He has served on the boards of the American Red Cross, the Norfolk Academy Alumni Association, and as a trustee of Westminster Canterbury.  Carter is a member of the Vestry of St. Andrews Episcopal Chuch and chairs the Endowment Fund.

Carter received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hampden-Sydney College and is a graduate of the LEAD Hampton Roads program.

He is married with three children, and in his free time can be found on a variety of athletic fields, where he cheers, coaches, and enjoys youth sports.

Weyman is a Portfolio Manager in Signature’s Investment Department. As a Portfolio Manager, Weyman is responsible for sourcing managers, performing due diligence on existing and new managers, developing a manager and peer network, and allocating capital to managers. He focuses on traditional stock and bond strategies.

As a member of the Investment Team, Weyman researches and analyzes global financial and economic trends and applies those findings to design portfolios and asset allocation for Signature’s policy portfolio.

Weyman also serves as the investment expert for our family office clients. He works with the family’s dedicated relationship manager to create and manage the client’s asset allocation and cash management based on the client’s specific needs, risk tolerance and liquidity constraints.

Having lived and worked in the U.S. and China, Weyman brings to Signature his economic knowledge and global perspective of today’s investment world. Prior to joining the firm, he worked with Sanwa Bank, Ltd., then one of the world’s largest banks. Weyman’s experience in international finance and education is an invaluable resource for the Signature Investment Team.

Weyman received his MBA degree at Regent University and finished coursework for his Ph.D. in Finance from Old Dominion University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Weyman frequently shares his investment expertise with Wall Street reporters and is a periodic guest on business television programs. He is a board member at United Way of South Hampton Roads Foundation and is a member of its Investment Committee. He also serves on the ODU Educational Foundation Board and is a member of its Investment Committee.  An avid traveler, Weyman has been to 46 countries around the world and 43 states in the United States.

Andrew is a Portfolio Manager at Signature, in charge of the firm’s illiquid investment efforts – including private equity, venture capital, real estate, natural resources and other illiquid asset classes. Andrew is responsible for sourcing, due diligence on existing and new opportunities, and decisions related to allocating capital.

As a member of the Investment Team, Andrew researches and analyzes financial and economic trends, and applies those findings to design portfolios and asset allocation firm wide.

Prior to joining Signature, Andrew worked at Oppenheimer Capital as a buy-side equity analyst covering global technology, and at Lincoln Financial Group.

Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.  He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Adam is a Senior Analyst at Signature and a member of the Investment Team. Adam is responsible for sourcing new investment managers, conducting due diligence on existing and new managers, and advising on managers and asset allocation within client portfolios.

As a member of the Investment Team, Adam researches and analyzes financial and economic trends and applies those findings to design portfolios and asset allocation for individual client portfolios and for Signature’s policy portfolios.  Adam’s research responsibilities include long-only equity and fixed income, with a particular focus on mutual fund investments.  He also spends time meeting with clients and writing client communications.  He audits client performance and portfolios on a quarterly basis.

Adam earned a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Old Dominion University with a double major in Finance and Economics.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Adam is married and has two daughters. He enjoys traveling and has been to Australia as well as countries within Europe, Africa, and Asia. Adam is active in his home owners association and currently serves as its Treasurer.

William is an Analyst at Signature and works as a part of the Investment Team. He is responsible for sourcing and conducting due diligence on existing and new managers for the hedge fund and private equity pools. William researches and analyzes financial and economic trends and applies those findings to help design portfolios and asset allocation for individual client portfolios, as well as for Signature’s policy portfolios. He also works on managing qualitative information and quantitative metrics used to monitor managers and create monthly and quarterly reports for clients.

William joined Signature after graduating summa cum laude from Hampden-Sydney College where he received a bachelor’s degree with a double major in Mathematical Economics and Spanish. He was a captain of the cross country team and during his junior year he spent a semester abroad in Valencia, Spain, where he lived with a host family and spent time travelling to Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, and Florence.

In his free time William enjoys exercising, participating in various sports, and spending time with friends. After work he can most likely be found jogging around his neighborhood or cheering on his favorite baseball team, the Washington Nationals.

Rose is a Client Services Associate at Signature. As a member of the Client Service Team, Rose serves as a liaison between Signature’s clients and relationship managers. She assists with portfolio management and trading, reporting, funds management, and various duties relating to client service. She strives to deliver an excellent client experience and is able to assist clients on a variety of detailed aspects in all matters of administration.

A graduate from Old Dominion University, Rose holds a BS degree in business administration with a major in Finance. She also holds a Registered Investment Advisor Series 65 certification. Rose brings twenty-five years of financial service experience to the Client Service Team. Prior to joining Signature, she was a Business Manager with BB&T Asset Management, serving as the main contact and internal liaison for legacy accounts. Other key roles have included Portfolio Manager Assistant, supporting municipal bond and fixed income portfolio managers. Rose also held a quality assurance position and is able to assist in a compliance division of the securities industry. She has been a team member of Security and Exchange Commission reviews and wrote policies and procedures for internal audits.

Rose’s personal interests include gardening, cycling, running/walking in Seashore State Park, traveling and reading. Rose lives in Virginia Beach with her husband and family and enjoys the oceanfront on sunny summer days.

Janice brings over twenty-seven years of financial service experience to the Client Service Team.  Prior to joining Signature, she was a Mortgage Specialist with First Citizens Bank providing consultation and mortgage programs for high net worth clients.  She was also previously a Vice President of Bank of America where she managed a retail Banking Center branch.

Active in the Charlottesville community, Janice has served on various committees with the Chamber of Commerce Quadruplicity Women’s Conference and is active with the local youth baseball league.   She has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and United Way.

Janice graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Financial Management.  Janice has a son that is continuing the Clemson legacy.  In her spare time, she enjoys time at the baseball field with her son, gardening, live music at local wineries, and spending time with family and friends.

Before joining Signature, Stephanie was Operations Manager of Old Dominion Capital Management in Charlottesville. She has worked in the wealth management industry, in a variety of roles, since 2000.

Stephanie graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. She is currently enrolled in the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification Education Program at Boston University.

Stephanie is married and has one daughter. She and her family enjoy travelling and have particularly enjoyed traveling through the Panama Canal, exploring Costa Rica, and spending time in Cozumel.

Her past experience includes working for Wells Fargo as a Business Relationship manager and a franchisee for Wyndham hotels. In addition to being a mom to twins, she actively volunteers in several community events and serves on the Finance and Executive committee for the Children’s Harbor. She has a strong passion to support business and entrepreneurial development in the Hampton roads area. She serves as a volunteer for 757 angels – a select network of business leaders in the Hampton Roads region, who provide investment capital, strategic advice and mentoring to selected startup and early stage companies to help them achieve market leadership. Rupal is also on the board for Startwheel- a virtual platform that provides mentorship to entrepreneurs. Rupal is a Co- Organizer for 1 Million Cups by Kauffman foundation- a program designed to educate, engage and connect entrepreneurs. She is an active member of Cultural Ambassadors of India and loves to volunteer to raise awareness in community events.

Michelle brings over 19 years in the client service industry to Signature.  Prior to joining the Signature team, Michelle worked as a client relationship manager for a Richmond based firm.  Michelle honed her skills in exceeding client expectations and passion for working with people as an office and restaurant manager.

A Norfolk native, Michelle earned her Bachelor’s Degree from East Carolina University and is completing her Master’s Degree from Capella University in the Study of Human Behavior.

When outside of the office, Michelle stays busy with her two children.  In her free time, she enjoys the beach, live music, and is an avid New York Yankees baseball fan.

His experience also includes several years as a Relationship Banker and Small Business Specialist with JPMorgan Chase Bank.

Originally from Grand Rapids, MI, Quinn obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies and Business from Grand Valley State University.

Outside of the office, Quinn’s favorite pastime is exploring and travelling the world with his wife. When he’s not planning his next trip, he also enjoys recreational sports, is an avid reader, and loves to kick-back and relax with friends and family.

Originally from Chesapeake, VA, Drew obtained Bachelor’s Degrees in Finance and Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is currently working towards becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.

Outside of the office, Drew enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending ODU football games, and cheering on the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Andrea is the Director of Marketing and Communications for Signature.  She is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategy and internal and external communications.

Prior to joining Signature, Andrea and her husband started a gelato and espresso cafe called Splendora’s. Before relocating to Charlottesville, she worked in corporate finance at The Bank of New York and a high yield bond analyst at GE Capital.

Andrea serves as a mentor for upcoming entrepreneurs in the Charlottesville Investment Collaborative.  She previously served as the president of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Discovery Museum and as a member of the board of local school organizations. She frequently participates in entrepreneurship panels and discussions at UVA and in the Charlottesville community.

Andrea graduated from Bates College with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Japanese and holds an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business. She lives in Charlottesville with her husband and 3 children.

Claudine is the Director of Human Resources and Administration for Signature. She leads the firm’s human resources department, determined to deliver a fabulous employee experience. As Director of Administration, Claudine ensures that all departments have the capacity and tools to achieve their goals.  She also manages the day to day administration of the firm.

Claudine received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Walden University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Western Governors University.  She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and holds the SHRM-SCP certification.

Claudine spent 8 years in San Diego where she worked for a large non-profit, assisting the CEO with projects ranging from human resources to over-seeing the construction and fund-raising process for a $5 million dormitory.

Claudine enjoys spending her time outside Signature with her husband and 2 young children.   She is originally from New Orleans and enjoys making the pilgrimage back for Mardi Gras each year.  She also enjoys finding new restaurants and tries to eat at a new place once a month.

Edie is the Director of the Finance and Accounting Team and the Family Office Controller at Signature. As Family Office Controller, she provides a variety of accounting services for our Family Office clients. She is responsible for trust accounting, and organizes detailed tax information for clients’ individual returns, as well as their various entities. Edie works with outside accounting firms, answering and researching questions on behalf of Signature’s clients.

Edie works with Signature’s CFO in relation to Signature’s financial reports. She assists in the development of the budget and prepares monthly financial reports for the CFO. She works closely with Signature’s accounting firm providing them with information they need and answering and researching questions.

Having worked in the accounting field since 1978, Edie has provided accounting services to Old Dominion University, Tidewater Consultants and Pembroke Realty. She is Treasurer for her church and serves on the Church Council.

Edie is a magna cum laude graduate of Tidewater Community College and Princess Anne Business College, where she received a degree in accounting.

Edie is married and has three children and a granddaughter. Having grown up in a military family, she has lived in several states and had the opportunity to travel extensively in Europe. She enjoys the beach, gardening, reading, traveling, and her annual family vacation in the Outer Banks.

Amy is the Director of Compliance and Legal Affairs at Signature. She serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for the firm, navigating the rules and regulations relating to investment advising and ensuring that Signature’s policies and procedures conform to SEC requirements. As general counsel, Amy provides Signature with advice on company strategies and their implementation, negotiates critical contracts, and works to minimize risk to the firm.

Prior to joining Signature, Amy worked as an attorney in private practice for 13 years, representing businesses and business owners in commercial litigation and corporate transactions and advising clients on strategic business practices and risk exposure. Before moving to Hampton Roads in 2008, Amy practiced law in Atlanta.

An active volunteer in the community, Amy was awarded the Walter E. Hoffman Community Service Award and named as one of Hampton Roads’ Top Forty under 40 in 2016. She serves on the corporate Board of Directors for Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Virginia, contributing her time to the Development and Youth of the Year Committees. She also sits on the Board of Zoning Appeals for the City of Norfolk, serves on the Board of Directors for the Hampton Roads Utility and Heavy Contractors Association, and previously served on the Advisory Board for the U.S. Green Building Council-Hampton Roads Chapter. Amy is active in both the Virginia Bar Association and Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association, devoting her time to various committees and leadership positions.

Amy received her bachelor’s degree in Advertising, cum laude, from Florida State University and her law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law. At home, Amy spends her time corralling her husband and two young children, going to concerts, obsessing over Florida State football, and participating in a variety of fitness activities.

Kelly is the Data Analyst on Signature’s Operations Team. She organizes and manages clients’ financial data as well as the data for Signature’s limited partnerships with the goal of providing an accurate accounting of assets. In addition to daily management, she also oversees the firm’s quarterly in-house audits. Kelly also focuses on process improvement to streamline communications between departments and maximize the accuracy and efficiency of data output. She collaborates with the Chief Operating Officer and the Client Services team on audits and issues, helping to ensure the best execution of processes and consistent information delivery.

Michael is the Portfolio Administrator on Signature’s Operations Team. Michael’s primary responsibility is coordinating with client services to complete operational tasks. He organizes and streamlines workflow to gain maximum efficiency in process. He also maintains the integrity of Signature’s qualitative data. Michael coordinates with other departments as needed, and enjoys participating in Signature’s technology development endeavors.

Michael began his career in finance during the summer of 2006 at Bellco Credit Union in Denver. He then relocated to Hampton Roads and was recruited by SunTrust. There, he spent four years in the banking division and three years as an associate in the investment department. He also acquired Lean Six Sigma certification during his tenure. His penchant for detail and desire for professional growth led him to join Signature’s Operations team.

In his free time, Michael enjoys the company of his family and friends, swimming, traveling, and playing in his church’s handbell choir. When possible, he donates his time and talents to charity, such as home organization projects for the elderly and disabled.

Prior to joining Signature, Lanky was an accountant for Triad, LC, a single-family office located in Richmond, Virginia.  Lanky received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business/Economics from Randolph-Macon College and an Accounting degree equivalent from University of Richmond.

Lanky loves to spend time at the beach.  She has 8 siblings and spends most Sundays with her very large family.  She loves to paddleboard, ride her beach cruiser and travel to just about anywhere.

Gabrielle is an Associate on the Finance and Accounting Team at Signature.  She provides bookkeeping and accounting services for Family Office Clients and manages Signature’s accounts payable.  Gabrielle brings over 10 years of experience as the accountant for a small family business, where she handled all accounting, office administration and human resources needs.

Gabrielle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a concentration in Financial Economics from the University of Virginia.  She passed the CPA exam while living in California and is currently working towards obtaining her CPA license.

After finishing her degree, Gabrielle lived and worked in San Francisco for over 10 years.  She returned to Norfolk to be near her family, especially her nieces.  In her free time, Gabrielle enjoys travel, cooking, theater and spending time with friends and family.  She also assists with the accounting for the St. Paul’s Downtown Farm Market and serves on the board of Tidewater Opera Initiative as the Director of Finance.

While a native of Norfolk, VA, Kimberly had also lived in Seattle, WA for three years. Kimberly is an avid sports fan, especially basketball and coaches her son’s team. She also enjoys traveling with her son and introducing him to new and exciting places.

Carol is an Associate on the Signature’s Administration Team. Carol has been with Signature since 1996 and worked as Anne Shumadine’s executive assistant since 1988. She assists her team director with accounts payable and payroll reports, as well as coordinating quarterly report reviews. Carol also works closely with processes to add consistency and continuity, and proofreads client-related communications that involve detailed information.

Carol joined Signature from the law firm of McCandlish Holton, P.C. Previously, she worked at McGuireWoods LLP. Carol spent a year attending evening classes at Old Dominion University, then an extension of the College of William & Mary.

With a passion for piano, Carol serves as pianist at her church and also plays the organ. She enjoys working in her flower garden at home. Carol has three grandchildren, whom she likes to spend time with and spoil as much as possible.

Lindsay is an Associate on the Finance and Accounting Team at Signature.  With more than 15 years of experience, she provides bookkeeping and accounting services for family office clients.

Lindsay began her accounting career in 2002 as a bookkeeper for a mortgage company where she discovered her love of numbers and accounting.  After leaving the mortgage industry, Lindsay ran operations and accounting for an Oahu-based commercial contracting business and continued her work in contracting accounting in California.  After moving to Virginia in mid-2017, she began working for Signature and contributing her accounting skills to the multi-family office.  She is certified in Quickbooks and general accounting knowledge by Olympic College.

Originally from Seattle, WA, Lindsay currently lives in Virginia Beach with her husband and two small children. In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys cooking, reading and travelling.  Outside of the office, Lindsay is active in her officers’ spouse club, where she serves as the treasurer.

Denise is an Associate on Signature’s Administration team.  She assists the entire Signature team by ensuring all office systems are maintained and operating smoothly. Denise welcomes all guests and is responsible for providing a consistently positive experience to anyone visiting Signature’s office. In addition, she works across teams to coordinate the distribution of reports and other materials to clients.

Prior to joining Signature, Denise worked in retail management and gained experience in all aspects of running a small business; from managing employees to bookkeeping and inventory.  Denise has an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Tidewater Community College and is pursuing bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University.

Outside Signature, Denise enjoys traveling. She is particularly fond of California and is always eager for her next trip west.
