Sarah Holtzinger, CPA
Sarah is a Client Strategist at Signature. As a member of the Client Management team, she focuses on making it easier for wealthy families to navigate the powerful forces that money exerts on their lives. Sarah accomplishes her goals by using her extensive background in areas such as income tax, estate planning, and philanthropy. She also has a keen interest in family dynamics and the successful transfer of wealth among generations, allowing her to offer guidance so wealthy families can make the best possible decisions for their lives.
Prior to joining Signature, Sarah practiced as a CPA with an emphasis on tax planning and compliance for high net worth families with multifaceted income, gift, and estate tax issues. Her previous experience includes practicing with both KPMG LLP and Wall, Einhorn, & Chernitzer, P.C.
Sarah serves as Chair for the United Way Young Philanthropists. She is an active member of both the Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate and the Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Virginia Society of CPAs, and the Tidewater Chapter of the VSCPA.
Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree from the Mason School of Business at the College of William and Mary. Sarah is a graduate of the LEAD Hampton Roads Class of 2015.
In her free time, she enjoys being with her family and being active in both the local Hampton Roads community and the outdoors.
What do you do at Signature?
I’m a relationship manager and tax consultant. That means I work with families to develop and execute strategies that help them achieve the things they value the most.
What qualities make you best suited to do what you do?
I’m a bit of a geek, so I enjoy diving into technical areas and connecting it to real life.
What is your favorite part about wealth management?
The connection with our clients. I’m honored by the trust our clients place in us. It’s genuinely humbling.

I love coming to work every day with a group of folks who have a sincere ambition to collaborate, strive for excellence, and put the client first.
What results are you most proud of achieving for a Signature client?
There’s no feeling in the world like connecting a client’s wealth to their goals for their lives—and then executing flawlessly.
What do you wish more people understood about their wealth?
Your portfolio can do so much more for you than you realize. It can bring you peace of mind. It can be a driving force for the future or an active influence for today.
What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
I’m proud of my CPA designation and the work that it took to achieve it, but I’m also proud of the connection and positive influence I’ve developed with the folks around me.
What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
In 2014, I finished my first marathon. I swore I’d never do another one, but recently I’ve been considering it. Wish me luck!
What do you love to do outside of work?
Hiking. Camping. Running. The beach. Basically, anything that happens outdoors and involves my family and dogs is deeply restorative for me.
